The following is eight pages from the unpublished sequel to the Spider-Man 2099 story, “Deep Cover.” The story, which was part of the series’ sole Annual, introduced the para-human commando, Chernobyl. Chernobyl, along with a team of other super-powered soviet agents, were placed in hibernation to be awakened at the proper time to strike against US based super-heroes like Captain America, Thing, Hulk, etc. The original story left ambiguous the fate of Chernobyl’s teammates. This sequel picks up the story with Chernobyl tracking down and reviving one of his fellow teammates.

The story was plotted by Ian Edginton and drawn by Luke Ross. Ink work was started by Scott Koblish (page 2 is partially inked), but stopped, likely due to the cancellation of all the 2099 books. Since the story is mostly un-inked, the scans below a very light. I’ve boosted the contrast a bit to make them a little easier to see.

Pure speculation on my part, but I think it likely that had 2099 Unlimited not been cancelled, this story would probably have found a home there.

I don't mind anyone downloading the images below. But I would however ask that no one upload these images on a torrent or anywhere else. If you want to share, just link back to this page.
