Summary:

After stumbling upon the Frankenstein Monster, Iron Man is taken to Castle Frankenstein where he finds the castle under the control of the man called Dreadknight. Weakened from his recent battle with the Mandarin, Iron Man is defeated by Dreadknight and thrown into the castle dungeon. Also being held in the cell is the Baroness Frankenstein, grand-daughter of Victor Frankenstein. She recounts Dreadknight's story as he told it to her. He comes from Latveria and was once known as Bram Velsing, a scientist working for Dr. Doom. In secret, Velsing harbors a desire to use his skills to overthrow Doom and become the new master of Latveria. One day, when he shares his dreams with his love, Doom appears, having been spying on him for some time. In punishment for his treason, he has a death-like mask bonded to Velsing's face. After leaving Latveria, Velsing was found by the inhabitants of Castle Frankenstein and taken there. After being healed by the Baroness, he took her as a hostage. Dreadknignt visits the cell and once more demands that the Baroness give up her ancestors secrets. When she refuses, Iron Man breaks free from his bonds and battles him. Eventually he beats Dreadknight and leaves him in the hands of the now free Baroness and Monster.

• It is unknown if Dreadknight has continued his crusade to avenge himself upon Doom, but he did attempt to take over Latveria in Doom's absence, see Spider Man Unlimited #16
