Issue- 311

Writer- John Bryne

Art- Paul Ryan & Tom Palmer

Summary:

A figure in the shadows directs an army of robots in an all out attack on Hydrobase, the island base of the Avengers. The robot army succeeds in distracting the few Avengers on the island so that a well placed explosive detonates and sinks the island.

.

Comments:

A 'figure' in the shadows directs the events of this issue. It is quite obviously Doctor Doom, but for whatever reason his identity is hidden. The same goes for another villain, the Mandarin. Although Doom doesn't actually 'appear' in the normal sense of the word, this is an excellent issue. Maybe its just that I love issues where hero's base's get destroyed. Bottom Line: Read It!

Issue- 312

Writer- John Bryne

Art- Paul Ryan & Tom Palmer

Summary:

The Acts of Vengeance council observes as the Freedom Force chooses this moment to strike against the Avengers. They also struggle to maintain their alliance as personal grudges begin to dominate their deliberations.

Comments:

Art's good, writings good, however I am reluctant to recommend an issue with so little Doom. For an Acts of Vengeance story, there's lots, but it still only a few pages. This issue though does feel a little more relevant to the actual Acts of Vengeance story. Bottom Line: Read It!
