Summary:

Doom enters into a bargain with Mr. Jip to exchange the use of a book with arcane knowledge for the delivery of Dagger. Doom plans on using Dagger as a source of unlimited energy to power a machine that will allow him to re-take Latveria. The deal goes sour however Dagger realizes that the promise of a noted physician to help cure her blindness is just a lure. Cloak meanwhile catches on that Dagger is has been kidnapped and journeys to her rescue. Ultimately the two defeat Mr. Jip and Doom is left with the disappointment of a lost opportunity.

 

 

 

 

Comments:

Doom's second encounter with the duo of Cloak and Dagger is much more distant. In fact he never meets them at all but rather he serves as a plot device rather than an actual villain. This is just one of a number of attempts that Doom makes at using a hero(s) as part of his plan to re-take Latveria. While not as interesting as Doom's previous appearance in the C&D title, it should be noted he is not really the central villain here. Please note also that the name of this comic is The Mutant Misadventures of Cloak and Dagger. A rather big mouthful, so many times you will find this listed as Cloak and Dagger volume 3. It made finding this issue a little confusing because Doom's previous appearance with them was in issue 10 of the previous title. The close numbering may mislead people. Bottom Line: Skip It!
