Comments:
Although I find in many cases Jae Lee’s art is both beautiful and cool, it can also make the story difficult to follow. So while there are some impressive visuals of Doom here, you may find yourself scratching your head at times figuring out how things got from point A to point B, or what the heck point B is exactly. The story actually suffers a bit because of the art. At four issues, it seems like remarkably little happens and it feels dragged out. Plot-wise, taking over the fishing lanes may seem like “small fish” for Doom, but I find it is as actually thinking out of the box. I find it preferable to the typical “destroy the Fantastic Four” story. For that matter it beats having Namor and Doom going back and forth over whether or not they should be allies or not. Which if this has been the 70s that’s that it might have been. Bottom Line: *** out of 5
