Summary:

The year is 1985, and following the divorce of his parents, a young boy named Toby turns to reading Marvel comic books for escape. At the Wyncham House, the nearby home of a former friend of his father's, new tenants have moved in and begun to renovate the house. Soon after, Toby begins to see characters from his comic books appear in the real world. When an amateur photograph taken of the Vulture makes the evening news, Toby is convinced that super-villains from his comics are living at the Wyncham house and goes to investigate. He is shocked to discover Dr. Doom and the Mole Man in a heated argument. Doom catches a glimpse of him in the bushes and Toby makes a run for it. As he dashes through the woods surrounding the house, he runs into the Hulk.

Comments:

Aside from appearing on the covers of #2 - 4 (and a panel appearance in #2), Doom is absent from all the subsequent issues of this series. Interesting to note that Doom states that Wyncham's mental powers have no influence on him. I find it odd that Doom disappears. I wonder if Doom recognizes his "master."
