Comments: I don't like to rate cameos, but if I did, this would get 5 stars. Paul Cornell absolutely nails Doom in the few moments that he shows up here. Vampire State in its own right is a fantastic story which I recommend. Doom-wise, Cornell plays up his gypsy roots and magic side and even throws a reference to Iron Man #149. All pluses. I like the idea of Doom dealing with occult forces like Dracula. I'm not quite sure how Doom's "gift" to Dracula was supposed to help him (you will need to read #15 to see how that plays out), but I sure hope that one day we get to see Dracula and Doom face off, and I hope Cornell is the one to tell the tale.
