Title - Whatever Happened to the Thunderbolts?

Summary:

The Thunderbolt's tower continues its journey backwards in time and lands in the Pleistocene era. There the team rescue a wounded time traveler who was about to be eaten by sharks. Its only later, when he has taken over the controls of their tower, that the Thunderbolts learn that the traveler is in fact Doctor Doom. Grateful that they accidentally rescued him, he allows them to live, for the moment. However he does not wish any one to know that he required assistance and programs their tower to travel to a far flung future date where it will self-destruct. As the tower makes the jump to the 21st century where he wishes to return to, the team attacks.

Comments:

Props to Jeff Parker for the Triumph and Torment reference, but really I am not too fond of this brief appearance. Seems like its only purpose is to ret-con / undermine the perceived upgrade that Doom got in the Masters of Doom storyline. This appearance calls into question whether or not Doom in fact  "transformed" his body to the last molecule as previously stated. Bottom Line: * * out of 5
