Comments:

I was worried when the solicits announced that a war between Latveria and Symkaria would be the back drop to this story. Doom's good standing with Silver Sable and her country is one of the few ties that have thankfully remained untarnished over the years. I was pleased to find that the war was all because of the aggression wave. I was doubly and extremely pleased to see Stuart Moore drag out another footnote from Doom's past, the Psycho-Prism. Wow, that's all I can say. I jumped out of my seat when I saw something from Emperor Doom being referenced. Talk about obscure! As crossovers go, Moore did an excellent job of getting the Avengers to meet the Transformers. It was well handled, although the implication that they are still lingering about I think was unnecessary. I doubt this is going to happen again. Doom actually doesn't do that much, but it is a strong supporting role. His characterization is not bad either. I liked the emphasis that his people and country are his priority. That puts Moore in my ring when it comes to Doom's character. The interior art was also very good. Kirkham renders both the Avengers and the Transformers really well. Overall both properties were treated well, neither side of the crossover was done a disservice (which can easily happen in these things). Bottom Line: *** out of 5
