Title - Faith and Deception

Summary:

The Young Masters of Evil unleash a savage attack on the people of Latveria. The Teen Brigade and the new Defenders converge there as do the Braak'Nhud who are in pursuit of the In-Betweener. As the battle escalates, Ultimate Nulifier uses his weapon on the In-Betweener and banishes the Braak'Nhud. In the aftermath, the new Defenders leave in peace with Kristoff. The Teen Brigade slip away while they talk. Kristoff promises to punish the Executioner for his crimes.

 

Notes:

  • Kristoff appearance

  • At one point Kristoff yells out "This Land is Mine!" This was the name of the story in Fantastic Four #247, Kristoff's first appearance.

 

 
  Comments:
A minor appearance, but significant because it is Kristoff operating in a story not related to the events being told in Fantastic Four/FF. Even though the Young Master's of Evil's attack on Latveria doesn't speak well of Kristoff's ability to safe guard his people, I don't think he was portrayed as a push over. The story stresses that he is not Doctor Doom. I hope other writers follow Joe Casey's example instead of simply using him as a Doom clone. Bottom Line: * * * out of 5
