Summary: Eighty years in the future Madrox seeks the help of an aged and decrepit Victor von Doom. Doom is now confined to a wheelchair, requires an oxygen tank to breath, and is quite delusional.

Issue - 46 Writer - Peter David Art - Marco Santucci
Summary: Doom reveals that he has met Layla Miller before, and that she gave him the information that they would need, he only needs to remember. The first bit of information is that they require a Doomlock, a device which would allow them to make changes to their own timeline without creating a divergent one. The second bit of information is he needs to tell them to duck. Suddenly the ceiling of the room is ripped open and they are attacked by Sentinels. The Sentinels are defeated by Fitz who transports them into the past.

Summary: Eighty years in the future, Madrox, Layla Miller, and Ruby protect the senile Doctor Doom because of his knowledge of time travel.

Summary: With Doom in their custody, Madrox asks him to bring back the technology he refers to as a 'Doomlock'.

Issue - 49 Writer - Peter David Art - Valentine De Landro
Summary: Eighty years in the future, an elder Scott Summers confronts Doom about how their enemies obtained the Doomlock in the first place. He reveals that in one of his rare moments of lucidity, he gave them the device. Later, Madrox and the others visit Doom's lab to see how his work is progressing. To their surprise, Doom has managed to create a time platform and snatched Cortex from the past. Doom then orders cortex to kill all the mutants.

Issue - 50 Writer - Peter David Art - Valentine De Landro
Summary: After snatching Cortex from the past and bringing him to the future, Doom orders him to kill the mutants in the room. Cortex manages to kill Fitz. Ruby prepares to kill Doom with her optic blasts when she is attacked by her father, Cyclops. Cyclops is a cyborg and therefore Doom was able to take control of him. As Ruby battles her father, Doom disappears.

Comments: Even though I marked these as cameos, Doom plays a considerable role. A lot of what he does is not shown. For instance, his giving the Doomlock to Falcone is never seen, just mentioned. Likewise, he set the time platform for one more trip to allow Layla Miller to meet her younger self. Again, something not seen. What we do get to see are several rather humorous scenes of an old Dr. Doom still being Doom, only funnier. Highlights include Doom blasting Cyclops and telling Madrox the meaning of whinging. Don't read this for Doom, read it just because its fun. If I were into x-titles, I would probably read this one. Since Doom's role in the whole arc amounts to a series of small cameos, doesn't really seem fair to rate this. I'll just say its highly recommended if you're looking for a fun read. Bottom Line: N/A
