Summary:
Reed Richards, Sue and Johnny Storm, and Ben Grimm are bombarded by cosmic radiation when they are forced to follow a band of spies who have hijacked their prototype space vehicle. The spies plan to use a nuclear device in order to destroy an approaching space anomaly. Unknown to them, Doctor Doom is behind the spy ring.
Comments:
In this modern retelling of the FF origin, Doom puts in a appearance earlier than the first time around. In fact it is notable that this would be the first time that a connection is made between Doom and the FF's space flight. As we know now, recent retellings have made Doom more and more involved with the origin. Both in the Ultimate line and in the FF movie, Doom is also aboard the space flight and thus is also affected by the cosmic radiation. Thankfully, here Doom only puts in a panel appearance revealing the revamped Wyatt Wingfoot to be a fake SHIELD agent working for Doom. His agenda is still unknown. The book is worth picking up as it is a worthy retelling I think, however price may be an issue since this is normally pricey. Unless you are interested in knowing the full details of this revamp, Bottom Line: Skip It!
