Thor does not recall that in fact he was found by the woman Ceranda on a far off planet. Elsewhere on the planet, Doom discovers civilization living underground and makes plans to take it over. Thor attempts to leave the planet only to find he is somehow blocked, he assumes it is the work of Doom. Daily, Thor attempts escape but to no avail. Over time, he begins to make a life with Ceranda. One day, Doom arrives with an army from the underground city and demands Thor use his power to send him back to Earth, else he will kill all in the city with a gas. Thor refuses and travels to the city to disable the device. When he returns he finds Ceranda mortally wounded. Doom reveals that it was a ploy so he could fight Ceranda. It was she who brought them to the planet and kept them there. Using his own mystic knowledge, Doom defeated Ceranda and added her powers to his own. With her final breath, Ceranda declares her love for Thor and casts one final spell to send him home but with no memory of what has transpired.

Comments:

A nice little 'missing' adventure. Jurgens handles Doom well, both dialogue and art-wise. Its cool how Doom manages to take over a civilization in what was probably a matter of days or weeks. The use of mystic knowledge to get back home was also a welcome little nod to his roots. Bottom Line: *** out of 5
