Summary:

The Bucky of Counter-Earth threatens to release a nerve gas upon Latveria if Doom does not abdicate from his throne on Planet Doom. In response, Doom weaves a complex plot that forces Captain America, Rebel, and the super-powered team, The Redeemers, to combat the Young Allies.

Comments:

An interesting story. Seems like MARVEL wasn't in a hurry to discard the Heroes Reborn universe totally. The one shot of the Young Allies had not borne a series of its own so it is curious that they should have been brought in for a story that for all intents and purposes did not have to be told with them in it. Doom plays more of an orchestrator in this story and seems content to stay in the background. Although I disagree with the idea that he would use a third party to handle his own home-land security, I'm willing to let it slide for sake of the story. The story is highlighted by some good interplay between Doom and Cap as well as Cap and Bucky. The story's one major failing is that in the end Cap seems to care little for the plight of his former partner, let alone the world she fights for. In fact it seems uncharacteristic of Cap to not even be interested in learning about this lost period in his life. There are not many post-Return appearances of the Reborn Universe so, Bottom Line: Read It
