Summary:

Spider-Man and Strange charge into Morgez's apartment to confront him about his actions. Morgez explains he was trying to bring back his sister using the amulet, but it did nothing. Strange touches the amulet and undergoes a physical transformation. Strange attacks Spider-Man and he learns that Strange apparently shares her body with some kind of demon. The amulet burned them both and the demon wants revenge. Elsewhere, Gabe and Kasey encounter the dead as they mingle in with the Day of the Dead festivities. From afar, Strange's mentor bottles in her demonic side so Strange is once more in control of herself. Spider-Man and Strange observe that the city is overrun with the dead. Suddenly Morgez's sister, Nita rises behind them. This gives Spider-Man an idea. Sitting in a street alley, Morgez recalls how, as a child, he accidentally killed his sister with one of his father's rifle. Nita appears before Morgez and asks to return to the warmth she felt before he brought her back. Morgez surrenders the amulet to her and embraces her. The two erupt into flames. Afterwards, Strange tells Spider-Man that his idea to use the sister like a puppet worked. She then destroys the amulet. Spider-Man meanwhile decides its time to return to the U.S.

Notes:

  • An unseen figure directs Strange to Mexico City and also restores control of her body.

  • Continuity Flub: The first page depicts Spider-Man and Strange breaking in through the skylight of Morgez's room. Unless the room has two, Morgez broke the skylight last issue to let in the light of the moon.
